Mastering numbers is a key step to communicating in any language. Here’s a guide to numbers in Turkish, complete with easy-to-follow pronunciation!

🔢 Numbers 0-10 in Turkish

  • 0 – Sıfır (suh-fuhr)

  • 1 – Bir (beer)

  • 2 – İki (ee-kee)

  • 3 – Üç (ooch)

  • 4 – Dört (duhrt)

  • 5 – Beş (besh)

  • 6 – Altı (ahl-tuh)

  • 7 – Yedi (yeh-dee)

  • 8 – Sekiz (seh-keez)

  • 9 – Dokuz (doh-kooz)

  • 10 – On (ohn)

🔟 Counting by Tens

  • 20 – Yirmi (yeer-mee)

  • 30 – Otuz (oh-tooz)

  • 40 – Kırk (kuhrk)

  • 50 – Elli (el-lee)

  • 60 – Altmış (aht-muhsh)

💡 How Turkish Numbers Work:

  • Combine tens and ones:

    • 21 – Yirmi bir (yeer-mee beer)

    • 45 – Kırk beş (kuhrk besh)

  • For hundreds, say the number + "yüz":

    • 200 – İki yüz (ee-kee yooz)

    • 500 – Beş yüz (besh yooz)
